The Zebra DS9908 barcode reader is the ideal solution for scanning products at points of sale. The equipment improves the check-out experience by ensuring fast and accurate scanning of 1D, 2D and Digimarc barcodes. Thus, the waiting line is shorter and the sale-purchase process takes place more fluidly and in a shorter time.

The Zebra DS9908 scanner has two modes of use: handheld (the operator activates the reader's trigger) or handsfree (the reader is mounted on the counter and scanning is performed automatically).

During use, the reader automatically detects the way in which it is intended to work. The capacitive touch sensor and the accelerometer work together to change from handsfree mode to handheld mode when the operator lifts the device from the stand.

Handheld mode and presentation mode work differently. While the presentation mode has a shorter scanning distance to prevent accidental reading of other nearby codes, the handheld mode can scan products at a distance of up to 62 cm.
