The Intel company opened its representative office in Bucharest in 2005, as a branch of Intel Corporation UK. Among the main objectives of the Intel office in Romania is the introduction and promotion of the latest computing technologies for end consumers. At the same time, the local office collaborates with state institutions, regulatory bodies, professional associations and other multinational companies for the development and maintenance of a stable IT&C ecosystem in Romania.

Also, Intel is an active supporter of the national education system. In recent years, Intel has carried out several educational projects for primary, secondary, high school and university education.

Intel Capital, the investment division of Intel, invested in 2006 in Siveco, the largest software company in Romania. Siveco is an important supplier of software for education and the developer of the AeL platform, which has been awarded numerous times at the international level. Also, Siveco participated in various IT solutions development projects for agriculture, the health system, the customs system in Romania, etc.
